磯崎新アトリエでは、エジプト国立文明博物館、東京都新都庁舎コンペ、ビーコンプラザ、ブルックリン美術館マスタープラン・コンペ、北九州国際会議場、シュトゥットガルト現代美術館コンペ、福岡ドーム、静岡県舞台芸術公園、群馬県立近代美術館 現代美術棟、テート・モダン・コンペなど、国内外の公共・文化建築の設計およびプロジェクトマネジメントを担当した。
コロンビア大学客員研究員としてニューヨークに滞在し、バーナード・チュミ・アーキテクツでは、フランス・トゥルコアンの国立現代芸術スタジオ「Le Fresnoy」の基本設計をニューヨーク事務所で担当。また、荒川修作＋マドリン・ギンズの建築プロジェクトにも参画。
その後、一級建築士事務所ライフスケープ研究所を設立し、新川崎・創造のもり K²タウンキャンパス、八王子市からまつセンター、養老天命反転地、ひなや第4計画などを担当。その後、建築・都市、アート、文化政策、教育を横断する活動を展開。
2001年にトーキョーワンダーサイトを創設し、2017年まで館長を務めたほか、東京都参与として文化政策の立案・推進、アーツカウンシル東京の創設などに携わる。2018年より東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科教授、2022年から2025年まで同大学副学長（国際連携）を務め、国際的な芸術教育と文化交流を推進した。

公共建築を、地域の文化、学び、交流を育む社会的基盤として捉え、構想・設計から運営、文化政策までを総合的に考える実践を続けている。

Architect, Cultural Producer, Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts
At the Arata Isozaki Atelier, he was responsible for the design and project management of public and cultural buildings both in Japan and abroad, including the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government New City Hall competition, Beacon Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum Master Plan competition, the Kitakyushu International Conference Center, the Stuttgart Museum of Contemporary Art competition, Fukuoka Dome, the Shizuoka Performing Arts Park, the Contemporary Art Wing of the Gunma Museum of Modern Art, and the Tate Modern competition. He stayed in New York as a visiting researcher at Columbia University and, while at Bernard Tschumi Architects, was responsible for the preliminary design of “Le Fresnoy,” the National Studio for Contemporary Art in Tourcoing, France, at the firm’s New York office. He also participated in architectural projects by Shusaku Arakawa + Madeline Gins. Subsequently, he established Lifescape Institute, architectural practice, and was responsible for projects such as the Shin-Kawasaki “Forest of Creation” K² Town Campus, the Hachioji City Kamatsu Center, the Yoro Tenmei Hantenchi, and the Hinaya Phase 4 Project. He later expanded his activities to span architecture, urban planning, art, cultural policy, and education. In 2001, he founded Tokyo Wonder Site and served as its director until 2017; he also served as an advisor to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, where he was involved in the formulation and promotion of cultural policies and the establishment of Arts Council Tokyo. Since 2018, he has been a professor in the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts, and from 2022 to 2025, he served as Vice President for International Collaboration at the university, promoting international arts education and cultural exchange.
He views public architecture as a social infrastructure that fosters local culture, learning, and exchange, and continues to engage in practice that comprehensively considers everything from conceptualization and design to operation and cultural policy.
